ABC has cancelled the show Roseanne, after Rosanne Barr’s Monday night, “racially-charged, abhorrent and repugnant” tweet.
Last night Rosanne came back on Twitter (she had “quit Twitter” after Monday night’s Tweet) and said…
“Don’t feel sorry for me, guys!!-I just want to apologize to the hundreds of people, and wonderful writers (all liberal) and talented actors who lost their jobs on my show due to my stupid tweet,” Barr tweeted. “I will be on Joe Rogan’s podcast friday.”
Morgan Freeman is claiming CNN defamed him in their reporting of allegations against him [source].
Through his lawyer he calls the article “the product of malicious intent, falsehoods, slight-of-hand, an absence of editorial control, and journalistic malpractice.”
He specifically takes issue with reporter Chloe Melas…
“(She) imagined an incident, or exaggerated a non-malicious remark wildly out of proportion to reality, to give her a basis to go after Mr. Freeman and cause him the grave harm that CNN’s story has inflicted.”
Freeman acknowledges that he made the remark in question — “I wish I was there” — but he was responding to a story Michael Caine had just told, and was not, as Melas claims, making reference to her being pregnant.
