New research shows you get the best sleep on Tuesday night.
Analysis of heart rate data collected from almost 5,000 men and women showed that Tuesday night’s sleep isn’t the longest, but it is the most restorative.
Tuesday night’s sleep is less likely to be interrupted by alcohol, rich food or other excesses that are more common later in the week.
- Men and women slept longest on the weekend, however, this sleep was of lower quality.
- Just 48 % of Saturday’s night sleep revitalizes the body and brain – compared to a healing high of 55.1 % on Tuesdays.
- The data also revealed women sleep longer – but men sleep more soundly.
- The typical female studied got 7 hours and 34 minutes of sleep a night – 11 minutes more than a man.
