Christina Aguilera has just released a new song called “Change” (last night) on iTunes.
“100% of the proceeds from each U.S. download of the single from June 17 to September 14 [go] to the National Compassion Fund to benefit victims and families affected by the Pulse shooting in Orlando.”
This single also marks her first solo musical release since 2012.
Calvin Harris has released the video for This Is What You Came For (featuring Rihanna).
The 59th Grammy Awards are still 8 months away… but they have just announced several rule changes for next year’s awards.
In the case of Best New Artist, acts no longer need to have a full album out to be nominated but must have released at least five (and no more than 30) singles or tracks. As well, they cannot have released more than three albums.
The Best Rap/Sung Collaboration category has been renamed Best Rap/Sung Performance in a bid “to include recordings by a solo artist who blur the lines between rapping and singing.”
Additionally, streaming-only recordings are now eligible to be nominated. No longer does a song or album have to be available for purchase either digitally or physically to be nominated for a Grammy.
*Nominations will be announced on December 6th and the Grammy ceremony will take place on February 12, 2017.
