So, Mariah Carey sings “All I Want For Christmas Is You”, then hangs out, answers questions and talks to customers at a Pier 1 Imports: Christmas Pop-Up Storybook store in New York City. She asks that staff introduce her as “theee best-selling female artist” and that she be referred to as the “Queen of Christmas” throughout the event. The cost for this 45 minute live on location? $300,000!
Another week, another record broken by Adele — her album 25 passed the 1,000,000 sold mark in the U.S. in its second week of release. That means it’s officially the first album ever to sell a million copies in two different weeks since Nielsen began keeping track in 1991.
Also, there has been overwhelming demand for Adele’s European tour. Tickets sold out for all dates in about 45 minutes. Adele has added additional dates now in Manchester, London, Birmingham, Zurich, Amsterdam and Antwerp.
