EVENT: The 6th annual Spirit of the North Radiothon
WHEN: Friday September 10th, 2010 from 6am – 6pm
WHERE: The University Hospital of Northern British Columbia
MORE: Join us on location at the University Hospital of Northern BC Sept 10th as we raise funds for the Spirit of the North Radiothon.  We’ll be talking with doctors, and nurses, former patients and friends and supporters from the community. Volunteers will be answering phones, taking pledges and challenges. We invite everyone to make that phone call or come down to the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation office just inside the front doors of the University Hospital of Northern BC.
FUNDRAISING EVENTS: You can help out the Radiothon by taking part in the following events:
Combos for a Cause:
*On September 9th, Subway will donate 50 cents from every footlong sold to the Radiothon. All Subways
in Prince George are participating and are locally owned by the Grewal Group.
*Sept 10th, McDonalds will donate $1 from any Combo sold during the day
*Sept 10th, 7:15 – 10am at the Hospital, Special Tim Hortons and the Citizen Drive-thru Breakfast: receive a Tim Hortons coffee, Timbits and a Citizen newspaper with donation
*Buy your Jeans Day button and wear your jeans every Friday in support of the Spirit of The North. Buttons are available at the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation's office at the University Hospital of Northern BC.

EVENT: SPCA Paws For A Cause
WHEN: Sunday Sept. 12th from 12-4pm
WHERE: Cottonwood Park
MORE: Scotiabank and the BC SPCA Paws For A Cause is the BC SPCA’s signature event and the largest event in support of animals in BC. 36 communities in BC will participate in the walk on Sept 12th in which thousands of animal lovers will walk up to 5K with their companion animals, family and friends. In addition to raising much needed funds for our animals, Paws For A Cause also creates awareness about the important role of the SPCA in our community. Funds raised at the Prince George walk will support the North Cariboo Branch and the work it does in the surrounding community

EVENT: Prince George Kidney Walk
WHEN: Sunday September 12th. Registration at 9am, Walk at 10am
WHERE: Northern Sports Centre at UNBC.
DETAILS: Kidney Disease is incurable and on the rise. In BC 1 in every 30 people have developed kidney disease. Funds raised from the Kidney Walk allow the foundation to support stimulating innovative research; provide education and support; promote access to high quality healthcare; and increase public awareness about kidney health and organ donation. Together we can make a real difference in the lives of kidney patients in British Columbia. Register as an individual or as a team for the 2.5 K Walk or 5 K Fun Run.
