5 Second Health Checks
5 Second Health Checks
Health tip
Hey!!!

I saw this in Prevention magazine and I thought this was a VERY important topic. 5 second health checks for overall general health.

1. Sleep Test. How fast do you fall asleep? If you're like Mike and I and fall asleep within seconds, it's a great sign that you are sleep deprived...um...we get up at 4!! Of course we are! ;-). To fix this try going to bed 30 minutes earlier, it should take about 7-12 minutes to fall asleep if you are generally well rested.

2. Toilet Test. Ewww...I know, but it's really important. After you "go" take a look in the bowl. Is there any blood? If so, this could simply be hemerrhoids, but if you've never had a problem with them before head to the doctor. This could be a sign of colon cancer or diverticulosis. These are small pouches that stick out in the lining of the colon.

3. Bloating Test. Many women get bloated for several different reasons, and because of this we tend to ignore any signs of bloating. However, if the bloating symptoms last two weeks or longer this could be an early sign of ovarian cancer. This is one of the first signs, one of the earliest signs and it's at the most treatable stage so it's important to take notice and get it checked out. Another sign is that you get full fast, if you have both symptoms head to your doctor and get a quick check up.

Early detection for any issue is the best thing we can do to keep ourselves healthy.

Happy Health!
