We started the week with Beyonce’s baby news – two babies, both still in hospital.
We found out that Ed Sheeran will be knighted (this time for real) and he was “chuffed” about it!
and Katy Perry became the first person to hit 100 million Twitter followers (Bieber is #2 (96 M), Barack Obama #3 (90 M), then Taylor Swift (85 M) and Rihanna (74 M)).
On Tuesday Lorde referred to her friendship with Taylor Swift as being “like having a friend with an autoimmune disease”. People got upset. She apologized.
Also on Tuesday, Jay Z legally changed his name to JAY-Z (all caps with the hyphen back in)…
and Hanson threw shade on Justin Bieber – comparing his music to a sexually transmitted disease.

“I prefer not to get any venereal diseases so whenever Justin Bieber gets near me or near my ears … it’s just ear infections, they’re terrible.”

Hanson is currently touring Australia and was playing a game of “Whose Song Is It Anyway” on a morning show when the topic of Bieber came up.
On Wednesday Bieber set an amazing record, becoming the first person ever to rank number 1, 2 and 3 on the Digital Song Sales chart simultaneously (for Despacito, I’m The One and 2U).
John Legend had to postpone two shows this week, due to illness. He should be back to work later today.
and yesterday, Shawn Mendes released the video for “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” [here]
and the Foo Fighters teased that their new album will feature “… probably the biggest pop star in the world and — I’m not kidding– sings backups on one of the heaviest songs on the record,” — “And we’re not telling anybody who it is.”
We’ll have to wait and see, the album is out September 15th.
